First, a very exciting announcement! As of today, book three of School Kids SG has officially entered what I call the “demo copy phase.” This is the last step in production before the book will be considered complete–basically, I’ve uploaded all the files to my printer and have ordered a demo copy to make sure everything’s coming out the right way. Past experience has taught me that this process takes anywhere from 2-8 weeks, but I’m hoping for a fast resolution this time around, mainly because book three doesn’t come packaged with any super-complicated graphics (unlike, say, the two-page map spread in book two).
While we all wait for the book to come out and for some of the content to perhaps start finding its way to the website, here’s an unused timelapse drawing from the production process. This was originally going to sit below the back cover blurb, but the rest of the cover is so ethereal and borderline-minimalist (you’ll see), I decided to go with something simpler in the end.
